mmnn hope this is in the right catagory. i didn't want to put it in the anime/manga section since the focus is actually the background :\
mmnn i never draw detailed backgrounds and things like that so i did this while at work one day. Kurai in the enchanted forest near Star City!
the random little rocks in the trees and gemstones is because i can imagine the forest being magical and even things like the rocks are alive and they glow. i'm just too lazy too digitally color this right now but i think i will at some point.

To me, a good category would be Fantasy (there is that fantasy element here), but your theme is just fine too! I love your traditional art style! It seems to blend well with a sort of children's book-Hobbit look! Have you watched the Hobbit yet?Aesthetic on January 29, 2013, 10:18:37 AM

oh yea! that's the catagory i was actually going to put it in first XD and i freaking love the Hobbit! i preferred the book to the movie though. my dad owns most of Tokiens books, including some that are not part of the middle earth series. his stuff does inspire me art-wise. and i love that it reminds you of a type of fantasy childrens book, i used to want to do them as a career choice :)
