this is a metaphor for a few different things.the bible is a symbol for one's beliefs and not a belief that mcdonalds has greatfood or something like higher thinking beliefs. the stakes represent all the aspects of our culture that are doing two things in this pic, one pinning a stereotype to us(its impaled in the characters chest up there) and just the plain destruction of beliefs in gerneral.you can also look at it in any way you want to and get anything you like out of it philosophically
