All my life I'd wanted to become a full demon. That's why I hunted for the Jewel that Kikyo guarded. But she had a sixth sense... I could never get close to her. As much as I wanted the Jewel... I never tried to kill Kikyo... and she never tried to kill me... Her face... it looked so utterly alone... and for the first time in my life, I felt like I'd done something wrong. That face nagged me... until I found myself thinking about her all the time...
OK, that text was from Volume 5 of Rumiko Takahashi's "Inu-Yasha." It was when he was thinking about his past romance with Kikyo. So, yeah...
