i'd say not to listen to art teachers, but then i'd be lying because some of them honestly have some good advice and are willing to help along the way

but art teachers must realize they're not to encourage or enforce some kind of standard in art other than the school assignment's objectives, such as learning to apply mediums and such, and color blending, and shading with blending stumps, et cetera

it looks a-ok for an anime-inspired piece, and it looks like you really do have a story to the picture, and i think you communicate that well enough

although you can try getting out an inked version or do something with it that involves color, anyway

This pic is good. It's just that ordinary art classes won't help that much for manga. The art teachers in 'art' classes prefer drawing/painting flowers or reality. They don't see many people's talents because they're too busy being total dumb-dumbs. But us fellow artists can see it. This pic is great. Soz if dis looks like a rant
