I like the crosshatched shading! It is an interesting style of shading- I have tried something like it before, but never directly on the face!

His fancy hair color is also excellent!

No way, if done with extra detail in certain darker areas and even adding some more blends of the same color here and there, you can make that shading style even cooler!
