It's a panel from a comic I've been trying to make - it takes place between the anime and movie. (It's super hard to make comics... I still don't have a whole page done... well, except for one - but I was going to redo it because I didn't do it right)
My avatar (if it's Ed with a paper over his face) is from a cover page I've been working on for the first volume of the comic. When I get something done, it'll be here: http://tboaa.smackjeeves.com/

PhotoShop. ^_^ (and a tablet - which I didn't know how to use when doing this picture... I recently found out that I have to zoom in 300-500 times to make smooth lines)
Ed's waiting for someone to open the door... (and is probably thinking about someone at this point) and then in the next panel he sees a ghost! O_o Or so he thinks. I got ahead of myself with this panel, because it's several pages into the comic and I don't have the first pages done yet. ^_^"

It doesn't really change coloring much for me, except... there's a few special tricks you can do like foreground/background jitter (you can make colors lighter or darker depending on how hard you press down, which makes it look similar to using colored pencils or something), and some other special things (mainly scattering, where pressing down causes different sizes of spots to appear, which can be manipulated to look like snow or other things). But, the most important thing is the lineart, although it takes about the same amount of time as using the pen tool. ^_^"

If you try making a line with the tablet where the picture is at 100%, the line will turn out squiggly, unless you make the line really fast. If you zoom in to somewhere between 300 and 500%, it'll look okay, but then you can't see everything so you might make the line slightly off just from not being able to see what you're doing. I think I like the tablet more than the pen tool, though, because it feels more like you're actually the one making the lines (but it's much easier to get a perfect-looking line with the pen tool).
I got my tablet from Amazon.com, you might be able to find a cheap one on there. Probably would be close to $100, though. Maybe $80...
