I just finished creating my super hero universe, I've been revising details, so let me know if something slipped by and I contradicted myself anywhere. I think I got this ready for posting though, so here it is. The pixel is small, but that's supposed to be a clock on her shirt.

Name: May Chronos
Alias: Time Mage

Age: She looks about 17, but is actually 22 in volume 1, 23 in volume 2, 24 volume 3 and 27 in volume 4.

She measures 5'8", has black and blond striped hair, dark brown eyes and an average/light built. She grew up in America, though her ancestry comes from Spain. Her cover up job is that of a night shift secretary at the police station, though that's just something she tells people as she never actually works that job. She's quiet at first, friendly once she starts feeling comfortable, though she only opens up to people who genuinely catch her attention. She's carefree and kind of sheltered at first, preferring to run from what she doesn't want to face, though her loyalty and sense of gratitude may drive her to change that.

Her pastimes are video games and photography, more so snapshots rather than anything professional. Her special powers include slowing or speeding the flow of time around a person or object. She also retains her youth, though she didn't really notice that at first since she's still chronologically young. People can struggle against her power, which makes it more tiring to maintain, the range is also limited to targets ten feet or less away from her. She cannot slow extremely fast targets, such as a bullet, because it's too fast for her to focus on it. Later she learns to focus her ability on more than one target simultaneously, though it is tiring. She can only use either slowing or speeding effects simultaneously, not both. Her time manipulation ability affects only the physical aspects, thus a person would still be able to think normally, even if they can barely move.

Story - Volume 1: A resident of Radiance City, May's power was discovered by police chief Sam Smith after she placed serial killer and robber, Bill Stone, in a state of slow motion at a store and walked away from the heist. He deduced she was the cause, as she was the calmest customer there, like she knew she could easily escape. After some questioning, it was revealed that May, now 22, had been aware of her power since she was 17 and was able to control it.

Sam offered her a job as a secretary at the police station, though that was just a cover-up to help her be able to move out on her own, so she could work with the Knights without involving her relatives.

May: "Finally, independence and freedom, no one can stop me from living life my way now!"

The Knights were an organization of elite trained soldiers and people with special powers that worked side by side with the police to take down the Moonlight mafia, a dangerous group that threatened to take over the city and then the world. Since the defeat of the Moonlight mafia, the Knights disbanded to pursue their own individual lives or crime fighting careers, as Radiance City reached a time of peace.

In the five following years the ex-Knights have died in apparent accidents or seemingly unrelated murders. Albeit being crime fighters they all had enemies, Sam, the former leader of the Knights suspected that everything was connected and someone with connections to the police revealed the former Knights identities. He suspects against all evidence that the fall of the Moonlight mafia was only a clever ruse and that they are preparing to reemerge without the Knights to get in their way. Because of that, Sam has been trying to reassemble the Knights with new members.

May seems up to the task of being a super hero at first, though the hard training Sam puts her through ends up making her believe it's not worth it.

May: "I didn't reveal my powers sooner despite knowing that the police needed people like me, because I feared I would end up being pushed to sacrifice the chance to live a good life for the sake of protecting strangers. I was right, it's not worth it. I'm quitting, try to stop me and I'll turn against you, it's in my own defense. I'm not a tool of justice, I live for me."

May decides to work freelance in a contractual basis and is hired by Radiance City mayor, Natalie Jones. This makes her end up working with Sam and the police again, though with only the obligations of her contract and no set training requirements. After a few missions, she patches things up with Sam and once again starts seeing him as a mentor. During this time, May also becomes good friends with Sam's sister, Shirley Smith, who works at the police station as an analyst and Sam's rookie partner for his day job as an officer, Sasuke Yoshida.

Sam's best friend and fellow police officer, Carl Carter, shared his suspicions about the Moonlight mafia. Carl's investigation led him to find a connection between the mafia and Natalie. When he confronted her, she revealed that she had the ability to create spheres of energy which she could cause to explode or fire as lasers. Using one such precise laser shot as a bullet, she killed Carl and covered her tracks.

Shirley had always believed that Natalie had a romantic interest in Sam, though he claimed to be too busy for relationships. Secretly Natalie and Sam had been lovers for a while, albeit she was only using him for her own purposes. Her effort as mayor to take down the Moonlight mafia was part of her plan to dethrone her older brother and take his place as their leader.

After Carl's death, Sam intensifies his efforts to bring back the Knights with new members, but there's a rumor going around that all those who join the Knights get killed. Sam, Shirley and Sasuke follow Carl's line of investigation and reach the same conclusions he did. Sam goes off to confront Natalie alone, but Shirley worries when she can't find him and, along with Sasuke, goes to look for him.

At Natalie's secluded mansion, May is present when Sam arrives, as Natalie was planning to offer her to join the Moonlight mafia. Natalie declares Sam a traitor and May is torn between her gratitude to both of them.

May: "It's not about what's right and wrong, it's about who I care for the most; and I care for you both. Sam, you set me on this path, but it was Natalie who made it worth walking, yet I walked it with you, Shirley and Sasuke, but also with Natalie."

Shirley and Sasuke show up and accuse Natalie, who finally loses her patience and reveals her power to try to kill them, but May stops her to prevent it. When Sasuke tries to arrest Natalie, May stops him, Sam and Shirley too, for the first time being able to effectively use her time manipulation on multiple targets at once. She cannot choose between her friends, thus she decides to end the conflict in a draw and remove herself from it.

May: "Natalie, I'm sorry, I'm very grateful to you, but I don't agree with what you want to do. I don't want to choose between my friends, so I won't. This will end in a draw and I'll leave. You all have the same choice, accept my neutrality or turn against me, but if you do that, you'll be proving you're not the better friend, so I won't be so neutral anymore. Let me walk away from this and I promise I'll go away and not bother any of you."

Sam, Shirley, Sasuke and May escape from Natalie's mansion. With her identity revealed, Natalie assumes full control of the Moonlight mafia and is no longer mayor. Sam establishes the Knights, as a private security firm to which the new mayor, Nate Newton, grants police-like jurisdiction after hiring them.

May exchanges her goodbyes with Sam, Shirley and Sasuke, apologizing for not being able to set aside her gratitude to Natalie despite the situation. She sets out to settle down in a new city and start over as a secret super hero.

Volume 2: May is visiting her friends at Radiance City. She hears from Shirley that Sam and Sasuke are out on a mission for the Knights, to capture serial killer Bill Stone, who had escape from jail. The Knights have gained new advanced technology and their organization has grown. As their mission doesn't involve the Moonlight mafia or Natalie, May decides to help them for old time's sake.

May is surprised to find that Bill is now working for a mysterious man known as the Time Master, who has the same time manipulation abilities as her, but at a far greater magnitude. Due to May's unexpected arrival, the Time Master becomes curious about their similar abilities, which ultimately results in Sam and Sasuke being spared. Bill escapes with the Time Master and May is left in confusion.

Curious about this new development, May decides to stick around in Radiance City. As the Moonlight mafia is still going up against the Knights, she gets caught up in the crossfire and Natalie counts her presence in Radiance City with the Knights as the end of her neutrality. Though May insists that she is still grateful to Natalie and doesn't want to fight her, Natalie claims that it is only a matter of time before May is forced to choose sides, for even if she leaves the city, the Moonlight mafia's ultimate goal is still world domination.

May decides to set her curiosity about the Time Master aside and leave Radiance City, but then Shirley is kidnapped by the Moonlight mafia and Sam's surrender is ordered. Sam intends to give up his own life to save Shirley and leave Sasuke in charge of the Knights. Unable to abandon her friends May offers to join the Moonlight mafia in exchange for Shirley's freedom. Shirley is freed and Natalie arranges to test May's loyalty, however, she escapes from the Moonlight mafia and retreats to Knights HQ. May knows that Natalie has declared her a traitor and will most likely want revenge, so her only choices now are to run away for good or stay with the Knights.

May: "I'm not a hero, I'm not just, but I'm loyal. I can't ignore gratitude and I can't abandon my friends. I can ignore the pain of innocents, but I can't cause it. That's why I can never be with the Moonlight mafia. I think I finally found my motivation, I don't fight for justice, I fight for myself. I won't fight for your cause, but as long as you're my friends, I'll fight for you."

May chooses to stay with the Knights as she still has friends there. During one of their missions Time Master shows up again and reveals that he is May's ancestor, Cesar Epoch.

Cesar: "Taking over the world is a very slow process full of setbacks, but I've made more progress than you can imagine over the last few centuries. It gets boring though, having to constantly replace allies with the passing of time. Like me, I'm pretty sure you can also remain young; you just don't know it yet because you're still chronologically young. Make no mistake, a fatal injury will still kill you, but if you ever reach my level, you'll be very hard to kill. I command time all around me, I command time even for myself, I can fully regenerate my body to an earlier healthy state as long as there's a little life and enough energy left in me. I can freeze all attacks even as fast as bullets. You're the only one who can share eternity with me, dear descendant, be my loyal daughter and all your wishes will be granted."

May: "When I was younger, I thought the villains were cooler than the heroes, but I'm all grown up now. I have friends that make me think being a hero may not be so lame after all."

Cesar: "The Knights? Your friends will pass away in time, if the Moonlight mafia doesn't end them first. Your power is far inferior to mine, fight along with which ever side you choose, become stronger and when I finally reveal myself as the one who has been ruling the world from the shadows all along, you can join me then. I've waited for too long, five years; I intend to announce the fruits of my labor to the world in five years. Destruction, chaos, it will come, the countdown is set, the Timeless will rule. I'm only delaying it for an extra five years for you. You have until then to join me or kill me."

With Cesar fading back into the shadows, May continued helping their Knights in the battle against the Moonlight mafia. Her path was filled with close calls and unexpected turns, until finally, after a great struggle, the Knights brought peace to Radiance City once more. Yet Natalie still lived and she could gather followers and return at any moment. Then there was also the warning of the Time Master that made May wonder just how complex his secret crime organization, the Timeless, really was. The terrible Moonlight mafia may be as nothing in comparison to the Timeless and May knows her power is in no way a match for Cesar's.

Volume 3: The "present time" of the role play character. After peace was restored to Radiance City, an investigation began concerning the Timeless. However, nothing has been found and only May's closest friends believe that she truly received a warning from the mysterious Time Master, who seems to have vanished. During this time, May occasionally visited other cities and contributed in missions with various super heroes.

Volume 4: The "ending" of May's personal main storyline in which, along with old friends and unexpected allies she faces off against the Timeless. May, Sam, Shirley and Sasuke return as part of the Knights, seeking to stop Timeless before they reveal themselves to the world next year. Natalie is forced to join the Knights against the greater evil that is the Timeless. Bill continues to work for Cesar. Carl's daughter, Tally, discovers her wind manipulation powers and joins the Knights as a junior member. Characters Ethan Wright, who can control electricity, and Miles Edwards who can control fire, also join the Knights.
