Thankyou for the compliment Kur, (Ya don't mind me calling you that do you?) A Tachi blade? I thought it was a Wakizashi... And I'm sorry if I misinterpreted; but I think that if the katana was broken or unusable then the samurai would use the smaller blade called a wakizashi....
