Half Dome

Half Dome by Blade

Bwahaha! I hath created a landscape painting!
The story of this painting is insane. First off, it was an exceedingly hot day when I started this, there were mosquitos everywhere, who proceeded to eat me alive, I in turn killed them (Skye knows how much I love to kill mosquitos!) They ended up in my wet paint, and I had to pull them out of the pic (gross!) I jokingly made a coment about how the picture complete with the mosquitos should be titled "Campers view of Half Dome". Anyway, I started with the clouds and sky, because everyone who does landscapes knows that if you start a painting early in the morning the lighting and cluouds will change, and quickly. When I was about half done with this, it started to rain, and it was a grand thunder strom at that. Watercolors + Water= mess. You can even see one or two rain drops in on the painting if you look closely enough. SO I ended up turning my board upside down and painting like that.
Then there was the whole battle to try and get a good pic of it to put here, I've been messing with it for an hour and the colours are still not right, but this is as close as I can seem to get..*sigh* As I always say, traditional art always looks better in real life.
Oh, and in case you're wondering, I've been doing watercolor landscapes for two years now, this is just the first one I'm putting up.
