With the new Superman movie premiering this Wednesday, I couldn''''t help but get into the Superman Fever so I decided to draw Superman. And not just any Superman, Thee "Superman", Christopher Reeve. I know I''''m not the only one when I say that he''''s the actor that comes to mind when the name Superman is spoken of. Not only did he play the role in the movies but he played it in real life. In my eyes, Christopher Reeve was a REAL SUPERMAN! I dedicate this digital painting of him to the true man of steel himself.

Oh no thats not a stupid question at all. Most of the time it is Photoshop that people refer it as but in this particular drawing I actually digitally painted it in acrylic paint. Theres this computer program called "Painter" and basically it has every medium you can think of from oil paint to watercolor to charcoal to pastels. This thing is fricken sweet cuz it has almost anything an artist would have in their studio. I like to work traditionally but as you probably know, art supplies are expensive so this program is a pretty good substitution for the real thing. It's a bit harder to get used to than photoshop but its fun messing with all the mediums and brushed it offers. Hope that answers your question and thanks for the compliments!

Yeah I agree, The quote is the best part. I saw that quote and I knew I just had to have it in my picture. Its such a inspiring quote especially coming from the man of steel himself. Thats the main reason I've chosen this picture as the feature picture for my profile ever since I drew it. I'm glad you like it. Thanks for checking it out!

not only is the picture amazing....but I love to see a featured artist who didn't JUST use photoshop. I understand photoshop every now and then but I have more respect for an artist who can use the natural god given talent of drawing and coloring with your hand just as often as photoshop. AMAZING PICTURE!!!!!!!! *faves*

I like the traces of brushes coming out of the picture! You really made it look traditional!
