Description

This was supposed to be the 200th pic... but something's gone wrong, as according to my gallery page, this is number 198. But then, every picture I've submitted since last week has been number 198... heck, it's close enough.

The name's derived from the words squirrel and kotei, Japanese for Emperor.

Drawn with a 0.3 mechanical pencil, inked with a 0.1 drawing pen, coloured with metallic pens and dry watercolour pencils. Comments welcome! :)

It looks as though the Squirrisu had some kind of equivalent to a Roman Empire at some point in their evolution if this golden statue of Emperor Squirkotei is anything to go by. Unfortunately, disposition wise, Emperor Squirkotei seems to have shared much in common with the human Roman Emperors – i.e., was most likely a tyrannical nutcase – but whereas our Emperors are long gone, Squirkotei’s spirit lives (and battles) on within the confines of his shiny effigy.
Atop his lofty perch, Emperor Squirkotei surveys his "empire", and is certain that nothing will stop him from crushing his opponents – not even the fact that he’s been dead for several thousand years.

I think the background's too wide now... I hadn't intended to add flecks of gold in the background, but the yellow pencil seems to have got some kind of blue streak in it and it just turned out that way... on the right side of the page, anyway. :)

Oh dear... nope, it's a spelling mistake. I still haven't got round to getting a new keyboard. ><

If you don't mind me saying so... just occasionally, it would be nice if you could comment a little on the actual picture, not just the spelling mistakes.

Ah, that's okay. I'm nitpicky too, but not always nitpicky enough to notice these mistakes. My spell checker certainly isn't nitpicky... ><

That is one cool Pokemon. I would love to add that to my group. One question, is it 200 different Pokemon, or can they be repeats like 200 Zigzagoon?

Unfortunately, they have to be 200 different Pokemon. Don't want to make it too easy to get Squirkotei... ^^
