The name's derived from the word lacuna, meaning space or gap.

At first glance, Lemacuna seems cute… until you realise it doesn’t have a face. For reasons unknown, Lemacuna also seems to be missing segments of its tail and paws. Popular rumour suggests Lemacuna is simply a lemur’s body possessed by a troublesome spirit. Whatever it is, it’s capable of making itself disappear almost entirely (except for its grin), which makes it highly successful at ambushes and sneak attacks.
