Drawn with a 0.3 mechanical pencil, inked with a 0.1 drawing pen, coloured with colouring pencils. The background was made with Microsoft Photo Editor. Comments welcome! :)
Kaktaseal are adaptable critters that can survive equally well on land or in water. Because their cactus-like armour is capable of absorbing great amounts of water, they can last a long time in harsh and arid locations, unlike their non-Pokemon counterparts.
Kaktaseal are intelligent yet playful and easily make firm and loyal friendships with their Trainers. However, their feelings are easily hurt and they can get very prickly if they take a dislike to someone – literally (thankfully, this doesn’t happen very often).

Shiny Kataseal is a kind of reddish-purple. Here's a link to some shiny versions, including Kaktaseal (though I'm hoping to redo them one day as they're not the best quality).

I'm not sure if he was supposed to be cute or not... for some reason I find seal's heads really difficult to draw...Eheheh, it's probably best not to get me started on the Black/White startes. I just hope their evolved forms look better...

I quite like the look of Zourak... somehow reminds me of that snowboarding wolf Volpolllie I drew back in 2008... only not white and without the snowboarding tail. Wonder what colour the shiny one will be (assuming they still have shinies in Black/White)?

I thought shiny Absol was brown... I've heard about a "trick" where you use the Poke Radar to find the same Pokemon over and over again, until you've a chain of about 40. Apparently this is supposed to increase your chances of encountering a shiny verison of that Pokemon. You need loads and loads of Repels, though... at least it's not quite as boring as hatching billions of eggs...

Same here... I once got a shiny Roselia from an egg, which took me completely by surprise as I hadn't been trying to get one... I only managed a +20 chain twice, and the first time I ran out of Repels. The second time I was luckier and got two shiny Shellos (with rubbish personalities and stats), and found a shiny Staravia after using the Poke Radar just once in Platinum, but it had a Timid personality... great. ><

It's funny how they seem to turn up when you're not thinking about them... The shiny Roselia's got purple flowers, and I love purple, so that was a bonus... too bad its personality wasn't great, but it was good enough. Probably the only Grass Type I really like, apart from Breloom.

Aw, thanks... I had to put "probably the last" there, just in case I come up with enough new ones to try for 170 or 200 or something, but it doesn't seem likely at the moment.This seal was originally going to be a Steel Type... I don't get how it turned into a cactus-like 'mon... ^^
