I didn't tell anyone about it when I got home. 'Clumsy Shioul,' they'd say, 'Did you grab the wrong end of the branding-iron again?' Then they would laugh.
Besides, only my left palm had been burnt. Everything would be fine. I could handle it. I was so wrong.

What a fascinating little story. It's quite interesting how his human hand turns not only skeletal, but gained a somewhat more demonic appeal as well; e.g. the claws. Very nice work indeed.
