(sigh) Alan Lee is the greatest. He drew the original, and I spent all day trying to get all the little details out of the book without tracing them. It came out GREAT! I am so PROUD of this picture! Especially that tail fin! (wolf whistles)

Alan Lee's artwork freaks me out sometimes. it said that merrows had red caps with lil' red feathers in 'em. female merrows were BEAUTIFUL but the males were drunk, had red noses, and had pig eyes. there was a story about a merrow-man who kept the souls of drowned men to keep his house warm, but some land-guy set them free.
