This is one of the better pictures you'll see if Hari... if only because it's the only full-body one I've done of her yet!

What's following is a backstory to explain her history with the Turtles... hopefully it'll clear up any confusion.

Hari was born Shimamura Yumi, a ryoujin-nin (ninja hunter) trained in any of a number of strange techniques which can be and are used to assassinate rogue ninja. Hired by many well-known clans throughout their clan's history, they are very traditional... except for in a few certain aspects.

Like her mother before her, and her grandmother before HER, Hari is a trained acupuncturist. Skilled hands and eyes can target a point of power from even a distance, and she is capable of flinging the small needles like darts with deadly accuracy. While she is capable of being a very quiet, polite girl, she is able to work with the best of the ryoujin-nin.

Just before her eighteenth birthday, Hari was sent to America in the guise of a Japanese exchange student to New York City. While there, she was actually training at the home of a ryoujin-nin from her clan that was living in the states to assist youths in learning their trade. While there, she was accosted in the alley by some street thugs... without her needles and unable to fight against guns or chains, she thought her mission was finished before it had even begun.

She was rather surprised when a mysterious figure appeared, attacking the thugs and saving her life. In great relief, she thanked the stranger, only to find out he was a giant turtle - Leonardo... and very soon, she returned the favor. A remaining thug was sneaking up behind them and Hari used a small, thin shard of glass to pierce a deadly power point. The turtle and the young ryoujin-nin parted ways after a brief introduction. Hari harbored a great deal of respect for the turtle that had saved her life, however, she did not tell anyone of her encounter.

After her eighteenth birthday, Hari's clan was called upon by Oroku Saki, the master of an ancient clan of ninja known as the Foot. He was being plagued by enemies of a rather mysterious nature. Since the attacks on Oroku Saki seemed rather amateur, they felt it a good time to send Hari on her first real mission. She was rather surprised to find out that one of those she would be hunting was Leonardo.

During the series of battles that followed, Hari was riddled by guilt, and in the end, she challenged Leonardo face-to-face for the lives of his brothers. If he defeated her, she would leave. If she defeated him, his life was forfeit... and she could finish her job in peace.

Hari lost the battle... a long and very trying battle. Upon her return to Japan, she discovered her father had been investigating Oroku Saki's operations. Proof had been found that he was not the honorable man he claimed to be. Infuriated, Hari set to training to avenge her friends and to try to bury the guilt she felt at attacking those who should have been her allies.

She has since greatly honed her skills and returned to the US. She occasionally meets with Leonardo for tea ceremony, but for the most part, she is content to run her shop - the Harikonotora - and help her friends if they should need assistance with injuries.

Hari is mahn. Everything else, unless otherwise noted, is the property of Mirage Studios and Eastman & Laird.
