Description
Clark is a 25-year-old human from a land ruled by vampires. Humans live under the constant threat of being sacrificed to feed their rulers. Raised on an isolated farm, Clark's only friend was Jane, a girl who dreamed of freedom. When Jane vanished, his mother told him she was likely taken to the castle, Clark's guilt over accepting her disappearance as a normal thing haunts him to this day. Years later, the blood tax also hit his family, faced with the chance of sacrificing his sickly brother to the vampires, Clark volunteers instead, hoping to atone for his failure to save Jane.
