Description
A picture inspired by a poem written for my Senior English class. The poem was supposed to represent yourself in animal form. I chose a caged lioness because love cats, and it was the perfect way to symbolize my depression. The poem runs thus (if you can't read it):
Outwardly
Graceful and dignified
Cleverness showing as a stalk my prey,
Plan, pounce,
Make it mine!
Feeding contentedly
On what the world had to offer,
And giving back to it,
I lifted my face to the sun and the wind,
And basked in them, purring.
Now
Outwardly
Graceful and dignified
But with effort, for the crowd is watching.
Watching, yet can't see why
I pace the confines placed around me
Sometimes lashing out,
Roaring my pain and sorrow,
Sometimes
Whiskers drooping
Ears laid back
Eyes dull
I accept my fate
As a caged lioness
Outwardly
Graceful and dignified
Cleverness showing as a stalk my prey,
Plan, pounce,
Make it mine!
Feeding contentedly
On what the world had to offer,
And giving back to it,
I lifted my face to the sun and the wind,
And basked in them, purring.
Now
Outwardly
Graceful and dignified
But with effort, for the crowd is watching.
Watching, yet can't see why
I pace the confines placed around me
Sometimes lashing out,
Roaring my pain and sorrow,
Sometimes
Whiskers drooping
Ears laid back
Eyes dull
I accept my fate
As a caged lioness
