Here's how I picture each Homer playing three cool instruments.
Guitar: Homer would play a jazz guitar, playing either rock or jazz.
Vibes; Homer wore the tux when he wanted to dance over Mr. Burns grave, but failed. He slso played marimba on the episode Bart had to stay 200 feet away from Lisa.
Tympani; Homer wished he would have muscles & look good in Speedos (not like the South America episode).
