So this is what we would call "grievously late." This is my illustration for a friend's story, Kingdom Hearts: Rebirth of the Simulacrum, Chapter 9: Burn Daylight, which was actually posted, oh, a month and a half ago. The scan is terrible and the background is literally nonexistent, but I owe the author an illustration for this chapter, so here it is!

For those of you not in the know, Simulacrum is a story revolving around Roxas and his quest to regain his memories as well as the people closest to him. Accompanying him on his journey is the sorceress Rinoa Heartilly (Final Fantasy 8), and together they search for answers both to their own questions, and to the mystery surrounding the Simulacrum

The statue that contained the heart of the fayth was a flat relief built into the floor which glowed with a violet light, illuminating the carving of a woman lying on her stomach with chains crossing her body. A few inches above the stone, a pale phantom faded in of a young woman kneeling before them. Her elegant robes were dark, and while her skin was an ethereal white, her hair was pitch and straight, cut just longer than shoulder length. Dusky tracings lined her wrists and throat, marking the jewelry she'd worn in life. From where she knelt, her lowered head hid her face from the group.

"Welcome." The word resonated from the statue, buzzing and echoing but unmistakably female. The woman stood, and the fayth of the Temple of Baaj faced them.</i>
