Well, here's the first page of the dragon reference.
The key to dragons is to remember the skeletal structure. How the legs and joints bend, and how they connect and move.
Then, after simplifying it into circles and lines, you can build a pose, and keep a good structure.
This is just my style. There are many other styles, I'm sure. And don't worry about being too detailed or fancy if you're just starting. Learn the basics, then start adding onto that.
I hope I've helped! I'll be putting up another reference/tutorial for the torso and wings next!! -^.~-v
