I remember Chevrolet showed the Nomad concept-car based on the 1954 Corvette Nomad concept car (and because of its popularity Chevy used it instead for the new 1955 style-body Bel Air instead of the Corvette) who used the Kappa platform currently in use for the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky http://www.canadiandriver.com/news/040104-2.htm
(there some die-cast pictures of the original Nomad at http://www.lastsummer.com/wagon/list50.html and the Wikipedia entry at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Nomad and a picture of a 1956 Nomad http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Chev/1956/brochure/pages/1956%20Chevrolet%20(07)_jpg.htm I hope these links are useful ^_^;;)
Now since Chevrolet had decided to go with the HHR, I taught then the Nomad concept car could be revived as a Pontiac instead and named Safari who got its origins as a counterpart of the Chevy Nomad for Pontiac you can see a 1957 model at http://www.tocmp.com/brochures/Pontiac/1957/pages/57Pontiac-p-21-22_JPG.htm and a 1955 model at http://www.gmphotostore.com/prodinfo.asp?number=53217147 Since the 2004 Nomad is built on the same platform as the Solstice, and it will bring more distinction between Pontiac and Chevrolet.
I did my first try for a concept car, and I have to confess then I'm not talented as legendairy car stylists like Harley Earl, Bill Mitchell, Georges Walker, Virgil Exner, Ralph Gilles, Guigario, Bertone, etc... and the folks of Pininfarina studios or some edited then I saw at this site at http://www.cwwcardesign.com/ (or these edited Trans-Am pics based on the Camaro 2006 concept car then Kevin Morgan did http://www.transamcountry.com/what_if.htm ) these cars pictures on this site are superb, for a moment I taught some of them was real and not edited :-)
and for station-wagon fans, there a mailing list at http://autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/stationwagon/ and for Pontiac fans, there GMInsidenews http://www.gminsidenews.com sorry for the shameless plug and the very very long description ^_^;
