This One Will Stick

Drawn for my school newspaper two years ago to go with this beautiful poem by Chloe King Malloy :)


The stars are blinking
Our love started sinking
A long time ago.

The rain pelts down
In the same town
That I longed for you.

The sky is moving
It's shifting its pieces
Trying to find a new way.

A new day, a new face, a new place
From what it was yesterday
But there's still hope for today.

The sea started to roar
And did this delicately for
No one else but you.

The flowers still flowed in the field
But developed a shield
And suddenly felt old.

This is the round
The fighter took ground
And finally took charge.

I'm glad it is gone
I knew all along
I wasn't fabricated for you.

My life has changed color
A color like no other
This one will stick.
