Watching You

This is Phoenix, a female Vampyrum from FIREWING, who was promised by Cama Zotz to be Goth's mate. Only thing is, she doesn't like Goth very much, and he's not crazy about her either.

This is how I imagined her. I always pictured her being red, because "Phoenix" means bird of fire, and fire is red, so yeah.................

Her position has significance to FIREWING, so let me explain... When her and Goth first meet, she imprisons him and forces him to join the Underworld Mining Crew, where they must use rocks to try digging to the Upperworld, because Goth had displeased Zotz. Well...Goth doesn't make it easy for Phoenix, who is the Cheif Builder of the Mines. But Goth's always been a pain...its a gift he has.

Here's a snipit from the book FIREWING to better explain:

"Where's your rock?" Phoenix asked, roosting beside him.
"I don't have one," Goth told her haughtily. "What is the purpose of this labour?"
"No rock? Then you must use your teeth!"
She slammed her body against Goth's, forcing his head towards the ceiling, and pushing his muzzle against the stone.
"Now! Dig!"
Goth had no choice. Baring his upper canines, he reared back and brought his teeth forward to chip at the stone. It was very dense, and each blow sent a flash of pain through the roots of his teeth into his skull. His mouth filled with grit and rubble, and he spit it out.
"Next time, you'll take a rock," Phoenix said. Over her shoulder she said, "I'm watching you."

That is where this pic comes in. Phoexix is watching Goth work from her post (which seems to be some tree or something), and judging from the little smile on her face, she's enjoying what she's seeing. Who would blame her? It'd probably be a pretty nice view.
