Actually Robin's parents were shot in the head right in front of Robin when he was only 12 while performing as The Flying Graysons in the circus. This is before he was Robin. Robin's real name is Richard "Dick" Grayson. And he and his parents were aerealists. Bruce Wayne aka Batman witnessed the murder while watching from the audience and even kidnapped and trained Dick Grayson.
