This is a copy. It comes to us courtesy of the Tokyo Pop manga Lupin III by Monkey Punch, Volume 3, copyright 1989. This picture was a bust of the picture of Lupin on the title page for Chapter 19: "No Mercy", seen on page 22.
Hey, I'm just making sure we all have our facts straight here.

I drew this in the college library a year and a half ago because I wanted to find out if I was any good at copying pictures. This hypothesis was borne of the law that my freehand work resembles the scrawlings of an elementary school student.

I think I did fairly well, considering it was my first attempt at copying anything without a Xerox machine. Any subsequent attempts at drawing Lupin freehand were dismal at best.

Thank-you for reading this novel.

I've always nursed a fancy for the b&ws m'self, especially in photography (there's just something about the lack of other colours that just forces you to re-imagine everything you're seeing and appreciate it for what it is and not what comprises it), so I'm in a "where's the fire?" hurry to agree with you. Thank-you for your comment. Shading and line work are things that would have otherwise never entered my mind were I not copying. I'm certain a passing glance at anything else I do is Exhibit A-Z on that case. Thanks again.
