But where's the bright orange flames? the hot-color scheme?
We, (or at least I am) are so conditioned now by the ever-popualr use of natural elements with combination of animals in the fantasy genre, that we begin to forget that olden folklore that tells the story of mysterious things glowing on the forest floor in the absence of light. Yes, My 'old-school' deprived friends, I'm talking about the ...(*with drum roll*) GLOWING MUSHROOM!! Or if you prefer, bioluminescent fungi, or Honey mushroom for us North Americans, or.... white root disease. *sigh*
You don't have to tell me that I can't draw mushrooms worth my life, but it's all in the fun of folklore name-play. And 1337 had made it that much more fun (and nerdy) for me!
I have to apologize on how bad the 'reflecting glow' on the fox looks. (and yes, that's 'suppose' to be a fox.) On the 8x10 prink out I made, I watered down glow-in-the-dark paint and just touched the surface of the supposedly glowing mushrooms and the supposedly fox's eyes so I can have a very faint glow like you would see in real life.
With my amateur skills and the inability to perceive things defined by a luminescent object, I will expect a, "Oh I see! I think there is a... some kind of animal there in the middle of the....mushrooms? I think." kind of response, so High Constructive Criticism is always greatly appreciated! and I would *Really* like help in how to make a better glow-like effect in my digital future work. Thank you so much viewing!

Beautifully done, I especially like the different style of lighting. It's very lovely.
