I LOVE this picture, no matter how disproportionate it may be. I think it's the best drawing of Weevil's face that I have ever done. *swoons* He looks FREAKIN' HOT this way!

Like my other pic, "The Itsy Bitsy Spider," this continues on with the Weevil = Peter Parker theme I had running in my head while watching "Spider-Man." So Weevil got to turn into the wall-crawler for a day or so with me. I did this pic the same way: trace the pose of Spidey on-screen and use it for reference (NOT to draw over top of!) while I did this pic. It makes it so much more realistic. Also an interesting touch of realism was the way his suit hangs down...notice he's replaced the beetle with a spider!

I couldn't bring myself to cover his head with a cruddy mask like Parker, and thank God I didn't! I think the eyes and the smile are my favorite parts...and where would we be without the pose itself? It's the crouch that does it. Weevil was meant for crouching--ever notice how he ALWAYS falls to his knees when he loses a duel? This is one of the scenes from the cage match, and it looks like he's not even thinking of losing this duel. His expression just SCREAMS "I can take you." Thus the somewhat odd title for him...

Bet you'll never look at Weevil the same way again! (I know I didn't...)

Oh, P.S.--I'm not extolling the virtues of my art--no, there are far better artists out there--but I am extolling the virtues of a certain vertically challenged insect freak...
