Description

Description
Icalatari
Used to be horse obsessed, thought I'd try my hand at copying a photo. Read a book about Man O' War (Secretariat) in fifth grade, I've been impressed with him ever since. He still holds the record for the win with the largest gap in the Triple Crown, to my knowledge. Gorgeous specimen of equinity. Of course, I've managed to make his barrel a bit long, but hopefully I can fix that later. (Movie title would be Secretariat.)

Jadisthats a good looking horse, your drawing looks very good so far, I'm interested to see what this looks like when you are done with it.
horses are pretty tricky to draw. I've become more interested lately in learning to draw them, because I've spent to time with real horses lately, so that increases my interest in seeing how others have drawn them.

IcalatariI appreciate your interest! Horses are pretty problematic. I'd be satisfied with the outlines on this one except for the fact that I made him too long, but I'm dreading re-working him into a less dachshund-like shape. >.< So much to re-do.

JadisI didn't notice him looking long until you pointed it out in the description, then I saw what you meant, but looking at him now, seems like his front half is thicker than his back half and the thinness of the back half adds to the long look.
at first I thought he just looked long because he's flying along there, stretched out.
