Cripes

This was for Paisleyferret's contest on dA. The contest was to draw a crazy character that would potentially be in the asylum of her story Xonel and the Asylum. We also had to write a little story about our character. She hasn’t chosen a winner yet.

I think I did okay on this. I don't like the way I drew the scar at the bottom though.

If you are the squeamish type, I advise you not to read the following paragraphs. I was gonna’ rate it PG with mild violence but my little sister doesn’t believe it’s that bad. I still say it has mild violence. The way I write it, Jess says it’s almost G. Yay?

Cripes was insane from the day he was born. His first moment of insanity was when he found a pair of scissors lying around as a youngster. He didn't realize that the end of his antenna wouldn't grow back. To get his revenge (for his own mistake) he went around, cutting other people's antennas off. After doing it to 23 other people, he was sentenced to prison for three years when the police finally figured out he was the notorious “Scissor Guy”. If he wasn't crazy before, he definitely was crazy in prison. After only one week, he started having conversations with the little piece of his antenna that he had kept since cutting it. He called it his "little friend" and whispered his plans of escape to it. He eventually swiped the guards' keys, but didn't use them straightaway. He was itchy and used them to scratch his head. He accidentally scratched at his eye, thus giving him the scar.

In his anger, he did the same thing to the sleeping guard. The guard woke up in seconds and went for help. Cripes used this time to escape, slashing anyone in his way, which only caused him to be captured sooner. He was then sent to the asylum where he would stay until he was sane. On the way, he tried to stab the guards every time they tried to clean his eye. At the asylum, the keys were taken from him and he wouldn't stop screaming until he got them back. Just to shut him up, a nurse gave him a ring of rubber teething keys. He apparently didn't know the difference and accepted them. They also put a tracking device on his head so he couldn't escape.

So far, he has only used his toy keys to poke people in the eye, side, or anywhere that hurts to be poked. He also goes around telling everyone he meets that he is "The Key Stabber" and will use his keys on them if they get too close.

So there you have it. I had fun thinking up the story as I went. The whole "key stabbing" idea didn't come out of nowhere. One day my dad, sister, and I were in the store and I was holding the keys. Every so often I would go behind Jess and say, "I am the Key Stabber!" Then I'd poke her lightly in the back with the keys. I must've been bored. Lol.
