Forbidden Love

She came up with the story about them and when I heard it, I naturally came up with other ideas to make it better since I was really interested in it. She didn't have a name for the Vortian until I thought of one, and even made him Lard Nar's great-great-great (etc.) grandfather. I couldn't say how many years ago it was, but it was pretty long ago. Like my other pic, "Tubed", Irkens and Vortians were in the midst of a war. The two species lived peacefully enough, working together and exchanging ideas, before a balance of power was broken and they began having disputes.

Azari's mother, Zorana, was queen (this was before Tallests and P.A.K.s), making Azari and her sister Clarisse (Claire for short) princesses, and their brother, Levin, a prince. Zorana favored Claire because she lived up to her expectations. Claire regarded her siblings as worthless. This caused Azari and Levin to become closer. When Azari began sneaking out of the palace, Levin found out but didn’t say anything. He knew his sister enjoyed whatever freedom she could get. On one of these escapades, Azari decided to go for a swim in the nearby river, not realizing how strong the current was that particular night.

There was a Vortian base camp not too far off from the river. Scouts from both planets would go on reconnaissance missions to find suitable places for spying on the enemy. Cappa Nar was one of the spies assigned to the palace sector (the site closest to the palace). He was walking through the woods when he heard a commotion by the river. When he came to the bank, he saw someone struggling in the water, on the verge of drowning. Without hesitating, he threw off his cape and dived in to rescue her. Once she revived, Azari thanked him for saving her and spoke with him for a while. She had nothing against Vortians since she played with them as a Smeet, which wasn’t too many years ago as she was only 16. Cappa Nar was just a spy (and a year older) so he wasn’t drilled to hate Irkens as soldiers were. His missions at the time mainly consisted of observing and reporting back his findings.

Azari talked with him for a while, saying how good it felt to talk to someone outside of the palace. The two wouldn’t be missed since Cappa Nar was on a break and Azari was supposedly asleep in her room. Because of this, Azari convinced him to go swimming with her in a more peaceful lake. She was fascinated by him and his adventures he had as a spy; she didn’t want him to leave so soon. As for Cappa Nar, he was attracted to her fascination of anything new and exciting. After that night, the two of them continued to meet up, changing their meeting places each time, as suggested by Cappa Nar. It was always hard for them to say good-bye since they didn’t know when they’d see each other next.

Cappa Nar and Azari were secretly married a few years later. When Zorana’s reign ended, Azari was next in line for the throne and took her place as Irk’s queen with Cappa Nar by her side. Their marriage broke the tension between the planets and things became peaceful once more…well, for the time being anyway. The two had children and so on. Hybrids were created, but the different traits began to become less pronounced as the years wore on and the Irken Birth Facility was made. I’m guessing Lard Nar and any present day relatives would still have some traces of Irken DNA in them. But I’m sure Lard Nar would be slapping himself silly if he knew about all this. XP

Self Critique

I adore this picture, and not just for its cuteness. I find it very beautiful. I was really careful in selecting colors, and you wouldn’t believe how panicky I was when it came to outlining. I didn’t want to ruin it! I am annoyed that the archway is crooked though. I used a ruler, but it simply wouldn’t do what I wanted it to.
