Little Saiou and Edo Sleeping

Takuma Saiou and Edo Phoenix / Sartorius Kumar and Aster Phoenix from Yugioh GX.

This drawing was a Valentine’s Day present for DaTenshiKurai on Deviant Art. ^___^

Little Edo was lonely and wanted Saiou to spend the night with him. When they were young Saiou really was like a security blanket for Edo. I guess I have them about in the 6 & 14 age range here. This pic also came out of the odd feelings I was having around my birthday, plus the desire to draw Saiou and Edo during the years not represented in the show.
It sure can be trying at times to sleep in the same bed with a child. If you’ve ever had to share a bed with a brother, sister, son, daughter, niece,nephew, or cousin around that age then you surely put up with getting flopped on, kicked, drooled on, pushed to the edge of the bed, having your hair pulled, the sheets stolen, kicked off or tangled around you,and/or being covered with plush animals. Then theres always the weirdness of waking up with the kid upside down under the covers at the foot of the bed or something. O_o* But Saiou adores his little friend and is more than willing to put up with al lthe squirming and shifting.

Btw - the plush little Edo is holding is Zombyra the Dark Hero. Obviously he can’t have a D-Hero plush since the public never knew of their existence. I could have made it a character like Batman, but I wanted to keep in the Yugioh Universe theme, then I remembered in the old series how Zombyra was a popular comic book hero in their world. ^_^
