Nice pose, looks convincing with center of gravity affected by equipment. That clock is also looking as it should. *thumbsup*
I'd only modify the flamethrower the reptile is wielding - fuel tank hidden inside backpack and cord seem fine, just the ejector would benefit from reworking. According to its current design, the weapon causes greater risk towards the gunner than his enemies, with such short and thick barrel without grip. Weapons from WW2 were designed to avoid such risks:
- American M1A1 http://orange.ap.teacup.com/becomshop/img/1369385731.jpg , http://webspace.webring.com/people/gw/wayne15071965/BUDDENSTRAINING/BUDENS2009_10.JPG & http://olive-drab.com/images/flamethrower_usmc_iwojima_375.jpg , notice less bulky shape of barrel and front grip ;
- German Flammenwerfer 35 http://www.militaryfactory.com/smallarms/imgs/flammenwerfer-35-fmw35-flamethrower.jpg , https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/736x/be/56/62/be5662dddec2fe39c1f8f7ba2b38a87c.jpg , http://waffen-ss.cz/wp-content/uploads/plamenomet-1.jpg , http://www.rp.pl/apps/pbcsi.dll/bilde?Avis=RP&Dato=20090619&Kategori=KULTURA&Lopenr=306199825&Ref=AR&Profile=1234&minW=200&minH=200&Q=80&exactW=600&exactH=315&exactFit=crop - it's longer barrel was designed to prevent the operator from self-burning;
- Soviet ROKS-2 https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5539/10857611586_27139c99dd_b.jpg , http://data3.primeportal.net/armory/yuri_pasholok/roks-3_flamethrower/images/roks-3_flamethrower_01_of_13.jpg , http://www.militaryimages.net/media/roks-2-flamethrower.24121/full & http://america.pink/images/3/6/5/1/0/6/6/en/2-roks-flamethrowers.jpg - this one was designed to resemble standard battle rifle partially to conceal in combat operators within riflemen, partially to simplify production and training costs.

thank you for your reassuring observations about the pose and all, and also--WOW-- thanks for all the help on the flame thrower. this was a very quick sketch, but I do intend to do a more polished picture of this character eventually, and I had NO IDEA what a flame thrower might actually look like.
LOL maybe I should draw Arthur hurting himself accidentally with my badly designed flame thrower.

Glad I could help. ;)
Firearms are often difficult to depict in convincing way, especially when you draw certain weapon. One-handed guns (pistols and revolvers) aren't that demanding, challenge appears inside bigger guns:
- http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/840496/Cowgirl-Delilah-with-Winchester-M1873 - that lever-action rifle doesn't have many details, so it's quite easy to draw all of them;
- http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/845246/White-Army-Trooper , http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/840018/Dolt-on-Istov-Hero-of-Soviet-Union & http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/844620/Good-because-Polish - Russians have always been fond on simply-designed weapons without many details, which makes them easier to depict;
- but the most demanding to draw (IMHO) are Western firearms with all their details: http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/840087/I-taw-Greet-Beret-Puttytat , http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/843179/Assignment-Middle-East , http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/847292/Ma-Deuce-Miss-Kitty , http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/847490/Delilah-Professional or http://www.fanart-central.net/pictures/user/TeeJay87/846578/Bride-of-Partisan-Mona-WIP-II (the latter is difficult to draw under angle).
As for the idea of accident - it sounds interesting, though since it's probably request for another person, I'm unsure how would the recipient find such picture.
