Title: Chuunin Tenten
The Story:
I’ve been meaning to give Tenten another shot for at least a year, but I never really got around to trying her again until now. It’s a pretty basic pose, so there weren’t too many details to be bothered with. Not that anybody cares, but this will be the last Naruto themed drawing that I try for a while…until I decide otherwise.
My Take:
Since I had quite a few things planned for later, I needed this one to go quickly for me. In the spirit of keeping things simple, I didn’t bother with too many details. I decided I wanted to throw in a random weapon as I did the last time, but there were so many things to think about there. After careful consideration (not really) I decided to go with a longer range weapon.
What I Like Most:
This pose came out as well as I had hoped. I got the idea from an action figure in a magazine. Since the figure was holding a weapon, I thought it would be perfect. I am also pleased with how her hair came out. Recently, I’ve been trying experiments with characters’ hair and most of them have come out to my liking, while others are still a work in progress.
What I Dislike Most:
I didn’t really plan accordingly for this one. With these types of drawings, I make two versions…the first is the one you see here, and the other is the one I add a background to, and use as part of a screen saver. With that said, I’m not 100% thrilled with how this weapon came out. For starters trying those effects without a background wasn’t the best idea I’ve had.
Final Thoughts:
This drawing had lots of promise early, but it pretty much tailed off during the sketching stage. For starters, I planned on her having those weapons that Talim (of Soul Calibur) has, unfortunately that didn’t quite work out, so I was left with that weapon used my Midori Suguira (of My-HiMe) which wasn’t a bad consolation, if only I did a better job with it.
