Joker don't listen to these people because they can't seem to take an insult to the face. They seem to never post a decent comment on someone's artwork. It's like a clone posting the same played out message over and over again always telling the artist there picture is amazing even though the picture is awful.

there are a lot of long commments under this pic. Im probably one of those ppl who need more practice. my pics arent too good. that might be because i dont have any fancy programs though. if you look at ppl's artwork you will automatically know if it was colored by hand or computer. the computer programs help you get nice backrounds and even if it is difficult to draw on it, your pic will always come out nice. anyways, nice pic. did you ink it or shade it with pencil. its hard to tell. and favs also

Firstly, I love the pic and your works, but secondly I have neither the time or money to attend art classes even though I would love to and it's the biggest regret for me that I never went to college to study art. I, however, ain't pissed off with you but you could have worded it a bit subtley, or not at all. There's always going to be someone to take it the wrong way no matter how hard you try.

Sorry, but what you said was bad! Sorry, but I'm getting angry...

Okay, okay... your good at drawing, but that doesn't mean you should go bragging and making people feel bad!

Okay, enough with the flames...

You draw really good with charcoal. Nice shading! I hope to see more!

0___o whoa lots of good and bad comments. Seems like everyone is a lil afraid of being mean, Welp here is cheshire's opinion, even though you are a wonderful artist joker, even the best artist's can make a pretty shootty pic but still be proud of what you say so i advice to watch your mouth or you might really offend people even if u don't mean to........I for one am still young im only 14 but i still try and still put my art up even if i may think it looks retarded, but they whole point for this site is to put ur art up so u can c what other people think and have them comliment and give advice and ya like other people said, there are ALOT more younger artists on this site rather than older and im sure u are older than most of the artists here. But ya so what this is my 3rd year of fine art and to be honest i don't think any of those art class's helped me with my skills one but, i try to improve my skills my own way, practice is the true key i think and ya practice makes perfect, you don't need 4 years a art school to be a great artist :3 iono if u were bragging, im sure u weren't but like i said just hold ur tongue when it comes to sayin those kinda things and im saying this because i am a fan of ur artwork and i don't want u to get to many flames for sumin stupid ya said XP good thing the people who commented this pic were nice!

eh... thats a good picture and I can understand where you're coming from but... I don't really see the point of taking art classes unless you are going to have a career in them. i just draw for fun and i like my pictures even though some of them just plain suck. Plus, if you learn to draw from others in there way, when will you get to develope how you like to draw and what you like to draw? If I ever do take an art class I'll just do it for fun, not for improving my art. If other people don't like my art they don't have to look at it. anywho, great picture, i never can really shade so i'm impressed when others do.

Yes some people are good but you've got to know that there are many out there who can draw much better than even those who attended art classes. It's not the class that matter, its the soul and passion the artist has in himself. As long as he has the passion, he will strive to improve and practise on his own. Not because he wanted people to praise his work, but because he likes and enjoys drawing.
We live in a busy world, it's almost impossible to fork out time to attend art classes and I dont see any need in it. Yes you've attended art classes and yes, your works are nice and good. But I realised your style nv changes and your works revolve around the same character and object.
Although I agree that art classes may help us gain a better hand at drawing but that's only to a limited extent. On the other hand, we can also improve by posting our works up here and heeding other's suggestions and advice even though this may not show results as quickly.
It is said the best poets write for themselves. This applies in drawing too. Who cares just as long as we like and enjoy our own works. It's not the results that matter, it's the process and effort.
I dont mean to crictise or hurt you but I'm just a bit offended by your comments and the "ädvice" you left regarding my work. I'd rather you give me suggestions on how I can improve on my work and probably how I can draw faster and better at the same time; instead of showering me with wordss of how much better you are.
Being straight forward isnt wrong, but being straight forward and simply pouring out cricticism without considering other's feelings is definitely not right.
I apologise again if I've offended you in any way.
your art is good. shading is impressive.

i've seen and read about pros in my country, and japan that didn't attend art classes.
and their drawing are really cool!
like fujiko f fujio, then naruto's artist, he just immitate db at first, than he made that awesome art now. (i really like naruto :P), even clamp's some artist practice by their own.
tsukasa hojo's city hunter, eiiji oda's one piece, who start as assistant of a famous artist, (i forgot) kenshin's artist, he look at his master, and maybe taught a little and cuz he love drawing, and made his afford over it, he succeed.

what i think that matters most in drawing is your heart, if you like drawing, u'll come to draw a lot, and practice makes perfect.
especially if u make art as your dream, that'd rather make u as a future excellent illustrator.
effort and love is what matters most, talent is just substitute.

i believe four years a go ur pic doesn't look even better than those now that u scourge. but now, u made such a wonderfull art cuz u practice a lot and love ur pics, are u not?
for other do not worry, do not be insulted, each people have their own time, pace and ways, in which will perfecting their own arts with their own style.
i've taken numerous high school art classes (but most of what i do is self taught) and they really don't go much into anatomy until college i believe. i'm not positive though. but you do learn the basics in high school art classes as fallenangel has said. other than that, just keep at it and keep practicing and you can almost teach yourself to a certain extent.

This is a display of mad skills! The contrasts in the shading are very well done. As for the comment about art classes (yes, they really do help because art class forces me to draw and practice. That is the key. Practice. The only problem is that the one class I went to didn't teach much about anatomy and perspective very well. But I did learn how to shade with more shades. So yeah, you are right in a way.)

Awe, thank you, Live. ;) Oddly enough, I've got far more than four years of art classes under my belt, and to be quite honest, I don't care for them one bit. Sure, you can learn the basics of color, composition, various techniques, etc., but most of art is just practicing and figuring out what works for YOU. I'm sure I do things when I do my pictures that another person would think was insane, but it works for me. And what's to say some of these people that "aren't very good" aren't taking art classes right now? Everyone has to start somewhere. And all your pictures are very good, I'll give you that. But not everyone wants to draw realism. I do, and I've worked at it for years. When I was little, I would've killed to be able to do something like this picture you've posted. But instead of giving up or enrolling in a hundred classes, I just started practicing and developing what works for me. No one can teach you that.

If you took 4 years of art class then you should know that Art is what comes from the hart and what is on the paper is truely art and please do not think you are the best artist in this site cause you should see FuzzyPanda and Fallenangel work those are good artist. But your pic is very Awsome so do not get me wrong and I am not trying to be mean.
O yeah every one in this site is a good artist

i think ligea is right.... not everybody can afford art classes... what i mean is that most of the people of fanart central are still young, and plus this is no professional website, i think people are free to show their work.. even tho its an advice =) this is just the way i think XD.. oh and by the way nice drawing!
