Subject to Slavery: Overwhelming Curiosity

Another picture, however little it may actually seem, for my 'Subject to Slavery' picture previews.

This time around, Sparks has been given a day off due to good behavior and his curiosity becomes unbearable when Metal and Metal Overlord tell him not to enter a specific room. After sneaking into the room, he finds a mysterious trunk-like chest, chained and etched with symbols....

Amber eyes glanced around, looking down the hallways for any signs of life...upon seeing none, the collared creature used one of his claws to pick the lock to the door and he slipped in, closing the door behind him quickly and silently.

There was bizzare containers and bottles containing otherworldly things in them, or glowing liquids....but there was one thing that caught his attention more than anything...a chest. He crept closer to it, blinking curiously. A wooden and metal chest, chained and locked down, and four runes were scratched on the top of it.

Sparks laid his hands down on the container, and instantly a freezing cold sensation burned his fingers that caused him to recoil his grip. He whimpered and shook his hands before he attempted to try again. This time, the cold was less severe....but it brought a voice.

'What mortal touches my prison?' A dark, deep, otherworldly voice inquired, their words seeming to repeat as they grew faint. "M..My name is Sparks....I was curious-"

'Curious of what was locked away from the eyes of others...I understand.' "What...are you?" 'I...am a figure of shadows...who has been bound into this accursed prison by those two damn cyborg hedgehogs!' The unseeable figure snarled in anger, causing Sparks to flinch and back up slightly.

'Do forgive an old shadow-creature...too long have I've been trapped...my temper gets the best of me. Tell me, why is it you are here, in this...fortress?' The voice softened as it questioned Sparks. "I'm here as a slave...I was bought from my last master...who is now deceased." 'I see...you should not be a slave...you have more potential then that....' "Really?" Green ears perked as amber eyes gazed at the chest.

'Of course...I can sense the great power that hides in that form of yours...it's hidden far underneath the skin, the muscle...the blood...but it is there...I can help with releasing that power....if you free me, that is.' The trapped being earned the full attention of the young slave.

"I...I'd be happy to release you...but I never did get your name.." The hedgehog smiled.

'My name...is Mephiles...Mephiles the Dark.'

dun, dun, DUN! Yes, I'm thinking of using Mephiles as a villain...in my story, he is more like Sparks' shoulder to cry on, he's the comfort for when things go wrong...which they soon do. But, he starts trying to slowly corrupt the boy's view on what's good and bad, and tries to turn him against his Masters.
