A Darker Change

He hoped this worked....

He spent too long for it not to work.

He placed a strange container in the center of a red circle surrounded by candles, and swiftly sent a blade across his wrist. The blue hedgehog, dressed in a robe of crimson and black, placed his hand over the container and allowed the blood to fall upon it as he spoke.

'Darkness, consume me...Power, fill me.... '

A staggering pain hit him, his chest feeling like someone was throwing a huge amount of weight on it, like something tried to crush him.

He fell to his knees as the pain tripled, and he screamed out in agony as his heart started beating faster and faster, erratic and uneven. His breath shortened into pained, shallow gasps. Amber eyes stared at his chest, one hand clutching at the place of his heart, feeling its horrid quick beats.

He choked and gasped as an energy was drawn out of him, emptying from his his throat and collecting into an orb that hovered in front of him. As the last of it poured from him, his heart beat quickly started to drop down into an agonizingly slow pace...his breathing became ever so labored....

'Not alive...but not dead...' A hiss came, as the demons of the container glared into space with their glowing crimson eyes. The orb of energy was soon sucked into the object, and soon the black glass shimmered dimly. Strange cuffs with symbols etched in them clicked into place on his neck and his wrists, and a course of power shot up his arms, ripping his sleeves in the process.

Sparks fell forwards, on all fours....

Da Thump....da thump..........da thump............da....thump.....

Nothing.

Sparks choked out, like the oxygen had been knocked out of him.

A long silence rang out, before he managed to stumble onto his feet...the flames of the candles flickered out as he did so....

He gasped for breath...and laughed like a lunatic that just escaped from their asylum.

"I've done it!" He screamed in joy. "No longer shall I end in hell...no longer shall I be weak compared to others!" Sparks yelled. He took the container and grinned, holding it up. "One of my many phylacteries..." He purred, running his fingers over the demons.

"I must tell Metaru-chan..."

If anyone here has read my 'Secrets' story, one would figure out that Sparks had been involved with the dark arts....

Sparks, like his father, is power-hungry, but for a different reason. He fears that he will one day become weak and worthless, 'obsolete' as he calls it....he also fears the end, when he stops reviving from his numerous deaths.

So, he turns to an 'Ultimate' sacrifice he learned how to do during his dark arts days....

Phylacteries = Lich

He gives up several of his forms and demons. Power Outage, Short Circuit Demon, Volt Angel, and Wrath and Violence for the demons...

He uses a purple-red electricity, able to hover and glide, able to switch between form appearances (from normal to zombie-ish to bones to ash...), able to summon several demonic hands to aid him in any situation, telepathy, telekinesis, ghost-walk (ability to walk through walls...doesn't like to use it 'cause he gets stuck sometimes) and mind-reading blocking abilities so the identities of his phylacteries cannot be discovered...-keeps them very well hidden-
