the calf of her legs should be a little longer if the veiw is from above though.
have you tried having people model for you?
i know of some body proportions that might help:
*the span of someones arms is accually the same as their height (in most cases)
*the fore arm is the length of the foot
*a hand should be large enough to cover the face
*the shoulders should be wide enough to fit the persons head 3 times
*when drawing the face the eyes should be a litte above half way down
*after drawing the eyes, the nose is half way between the eyes and chin
*after the nose the mouth is 1/3 of the way down in the remaining space
