I am a photoshop adept and I know exactly how you did all the effects. I could do incredible things with that program, but I am not good at drawing. It came out excellent, and I can tell how much polish you added to this project. may I recommend that you use Adobe Illustrator rather than Photoshop? If you have a student ID or education-related job you can get it from CampusTech.com for 400$(for Adobe Creative Suite 2, the professional level, 1200 dollar compilation of programs including photoshop 9.0 and Illustrator). Illustrator is not easy to use, but for creating art, Illustrator is much more versatile.

Well...I'm not that good...I need more practice..<br />
It took me at least 6 hours...<br />
..one of my secrets..??...well , you have to learn how to use the "Layers" It's everything in Photoshop...you also have to know how to use the "filters"..try to combine filters to create different effects...for example in the hat.. I used the filter "texture, grain, horizontal", then"Texture, grain, vertical" and finally "Texture, tezturizer, sandstone"...It's all about practice.
