I also have a Harpy I'll put up soon. Drew it in the car on the way back from WI. While taking a break from reading Dante's Inferno. Why that 'book' inspired a number of my drawings I'll never know. It's not very fascinating to read (probably because mine had too many translator notes, half of which were not needed), but it is good. Though it is fun to write essays about *nerd*
Anyway, after reading 400 pages about hell, you feel like drawing some demons. And so I have the "Princess of Hell" as titled. Not a character in the book (just in case there were any misconceptions about that)
I think the concept is pretty cheesy, but the picture is original at least. A devil in a torn, yellow Victorian inspired outfit is not something you see every day, I hope. Common subject or not, I ended up rather liking the picture, and it was a lot of fun to draw. I hope you will like it too :)

Oh. . . and that tiny crown is such an awesome little detail. I had to mention it, seeing as nobody had yet and I didn't want you to think that it had gone unnoticed. n_n

Woohoo, definitely haven't seen anything like this before! Fantastic idea, and you drew it so well. I mean, look at those spikes! Especially the ones on her back and the tip of her tail. And that tail! Amazing. So wriggly and reptilian-looking.
I love the way that her face doesn't look so much evil and angry, as most people would portray, but sneaky instead. Almost like she knows something you don't.

Dante's Inferno. Wonderful book, and amazing song, too! (Listen if you haven't heard it, its great to use for school and stuff too, I read TS Eliot's "The Hollow Men" to it for a senior project XD) Yea some of the concepts are cheesy now but maybe he's the one who came up with the cheesy ideas. I love your rendition of it, the pose fits the character wonderfully, too!
