I realized a short while ago that I'd never actually put up a picture of Deb, despite the fact that she's a pretty prominant character in my story "A&D". So, here's my darling Deb! She's all supportive, adorable, and awesome, so thus she is a huggle-bunny. <333 Like my shtupid terms? XD
Anyways, I don't like how this came out. Her nose isn't supposed to look like that. T_T Blegh. And I don't like several other things about it, but hey, I needed to get a pic of her up before the manga started in earnest. ^^

I like Deb, she's really funny. XD I wish I had the ability to draw people, which I don't...the heads and the hands evade me. -depressed sigh- I really like this picture though, her eyes are pretty.

Awwwwww, she's so sweet. :] And wow, I totally envy the way you shaded her white pants. *______* I'm terrible at shading white, really, so this is amazing. Hehe.♥
And her golden hair is so pretty!
Um, a few small crits... I've noticed you doing this some, but if you want your pictures to look a bit more solid and all, try not to draw 'transparent' hair or whatever. I know, it's hard to remember what goes on top when inking, and I make mistakes like it all the time. But for the most part, really try to keep whatever's on top the only lines that show. Otherwise, transparent hair is a little weird. Sorry!
Also, for shading... shading doesn't just follow whatever lines you draw. For example, on the face, shadows go:
http://img134.imageshack.us/img134/5671/luke19me6.jpg
Now, taken that the shading is a little dark on this picture, but try to get down some of the rough spacing; it all depends on which parts are 'hollows' and which parts 'bump up.' The area under the eyebrows to the tops of the eyes is usually in shadows, particularly 'inward' towards the center of the face, and less so on the edges. As well, shading doesn't really fall on either side of the nose as much as you'd imagine, though a set light source on one side and not straight at her could help this.
Also, the cheeks are usually lighter as they're the parts of your face that jut up; the lower half of the face is often shaded in lightly, with accents under the lip.
Anyway, that brought up the other issue I wanted to go over with you: a light source. Pinpointing a light source and not just slapping down highlights and shadows wherever folds happen helps to make your picture pop up even more. Random highlights makes an image look flat, as the viewer is confused as to where the light is coming from, and so which parts of the body are round, which are flat, etc.
Try this sometime. Pick out a light source, and if necessary, draw a little circle or something to indicate it in the top-left or top-right corner. A light from one side or the other is better than directly in front of the character, which makes all shadows lessen.
I know it's hard, and to be honest, I'm often a hypocrite and don't do it myself all the time; I'm used to putting down shadows out of habit and all that, as you probably well know, hahaha. But still, give it a shot and try out some new lighting. Even more dynamic is trying it out from directly above, directly below, or shifting light sources! Like a swirl of light; fire, etc, something like that. It's really fun. :)
Anyway, awesome pic, so keep it up. : )

Right, no transparent hair. XDDD *is brick'd* Blegh. I can't look at the reference at the moment as I'm on a school computer, but I'll look later. But I'll never be as good as you anyway. I should really just quit.
I did pinpoint a light source. It's coming from her right. I'm just too much of a friggin' moron to color it correctly. Really, I should just stop drawing altogether, as nothing I do comes out right. But thanks for the comment and shtuff.

Aww, honey, really, don't bash yourself. And never give up, either. I would know; actually, you wouldn't believe how frustrated I get with art. Yeah, I guess I'm good by some peopels' standards, but there are so many things that I don't know and so many things I can't do. I'm depressed every time I attempt perspective or action poses or expressions, and I'm frustrated that I'm always drawing the same boring things. But don't give up! You have to try and try and try again.
And jeez, I feel so freakin' bad. I'm on my home computer now so I can see your picture better; and I CAN see the shading on her clothes and skin that show the light source. I'm sorry for treating you like a noob or something~ :(
It was just a little light, is all. Really. I think just a little more shadow will really push it out and make it clear.
Your art is beautiful, darling. please don't get too sad; you're really amazing, y'know. It took me three years to learn how to color like you know how to now! You're amazingly fast and a quick learner. I'm sure there's nothing you can't do if you set your mind to it. :)
Keep going, hun. Look back all you want, but don't stop. :)

Boring? Darling, your stuff is in no way boring. o.O Each new picture is awesome, and your new poses and methods of coloring/drawing are just amazing.
Neh, 'tis okay, I really do need to add more shadow, or at least fiddle with a few things to make it better. Teh scanner muted some of the shadow, so it's really not your fault for not seeing it. 'Tis perfectly fine. =3
That's 'cause I have an amazing teacher. <333 You were probably self-taught, right? And you're as good as you are now, despite how long it might've taken. =3 I'd never have gotten as good as this if you hadn't helped. ^^ I won't give up. Thanks so much! *loveslovesloveslovesloves*
