How to Draw Female Anime Eyes

Okies, one of my friends said she wished she was better at anime eyes and she liked mine, so I'm offering a basic step by step insruction. Some of the pencil is fading, so here are the instructions. Look above for visual aids.

Step One: Create a pair of arcs.

Step Two: Outline the lashes

Step Three: Shade in the lashed (you may also want to darken the arc)

Step Three and a half: (optional) At thinner lashes for a more detailed look.

Step Four: Create a small, angled lash to connect the bottom of the eye.

Step Four and a half: (Optional) Add thin, additional lashes

Step Five: Create an oval for the iris

Step Six: Add a circle at the top of the iris

Step Seven: Create a pupil by shading under the pupil

Step Seven and a half: (optional) Add small circles or lines for shine effect.

Follow these easy instructions and master anime eyes.

Now, if you want to get more complex with the eyes, change the shape and follow the same basic instructions. As you practice more, it gets easier.

Male eyes are similar but without the lashes really. Or very small lashes and excluding the first two optional steps.
