Shackles, Sheik, Shatter, Shard 'n Shine, and Shade were all created the same way as Shadow was. They all are just failed attempts at creating the Ultimate Lifeform. Shadow had all found them in the same way, floating in suspended animation in glass tubes. He was angry at Professor Gerald for not telling him about them, and set them all free. Now all Seven roam the earth creating 'The Shadow Alliance'.

The pitch black effect in the background, I used four diffrent Black map pencils for that, and they all now stand two inches tall....
