Otaku: yeah, havent posted a picture in a while. Kupo said she'd fire me if i didnt. So FINALLY I remebered. So, here tis. Yuna. Chibi. And Stuff.
Hooray!
Kupo: Um...yeah, I think this pic's alright, but I really screwed up when I was coloring her hair, and I don't just mean how it looks greyish in some parts. Look closely and you'll see what I mean.

Wewt, how fun! I know this person. But I didn't know she had different colored eyes. *looks closely* Yah, I don't see anything wropng with the hair. There's that one thing, but that doesn't look like a mistake at all. The blending and shading is very nice! Unl;ess you're talking abouyt how one eye is bigger. Cos that has nothing to do with the hair. Nice job and I always thought she had a really cool outfit.

lol the whole time I drew my chibis in this style I drew that one eye bigger than the other and never noticed XD quite funny, looking back on it.
wow the coloring sux on her hair here a lot worse than I remembered =/ oh well, I guess if it was as good as I can do now it'd be sadder, cuz that would mean I haven't improved and I have. Hard to believe this was a whole yr ago.
oh but anyway, the flaw is how I accidentally colored it based on the line of the eye, so that she's got hair coloring across the part of her forehead that should be between her eye and hair, see? idk, it just really bothers me. in rl I erased that part after otaku gave it back to me and now it looks pretty much how it should.

yeah, I know, it sounds like a long time doesn't it? And in a way I feel like my drawings haven't changed much, but I know that's not true. Like the style of this picture. I don't do that anymore. I got it from a how to draw manga book and I'd (1) gotten sick of imitating someone else's style/having a dependable chibi style that kept me from branching out into fullfigures and (2) mastered that style and was bored of it. So now my chibis are way different and not even really consistent and I can draw full figures now, which is awesome.

well, yeah. References, and actually more than anything, just practice itself are really really good, but y'know, at least when you're starting off drawing books are really helpful, and using the tips without imitating their style (because when you do that it becomes a crutch, which is a very annoying problem to have and it never feels original or like anything is really yours) is just a really good way to go. good idea to look at em later too, when you know what they're talking about a little bit more and can better understand the tips and really apply them to what you already do.

hehe... I haven't looked over the books in about a year. I'm not sure where they are. But yah, most of my friends never developed their own style and it's relaly irritating. It normally wouldn't be, but they shun on me for being different. If you can imagine that. I mean, they like HATE me because I have my own style and draw things on my own. It just really ticks me off. But it's OK cos those guy's art and style of RPing is extremely mediochre.

hehe... indeed. But everyone I know seems to have their own chars, so I dunno what you're tlaking about. Anyway, I luff my chars ^^ No one else really does, but I do. They're like my best friends! All I have to do is think about them and I start laughing cos I'm losing my mind and have 15 imaginary friends. How fun. Ohhh Kd has a supprize for me!

Yeah, I'm beginning to really agree with that. If I just stopped over thinking it I could make up chars as well as anyone else, but in the end I just don't have enough reason to do it. Most ppl with a lot of original characters use them for RPing and stuff but I just don't care or want to do that and I'm no good with making up stories, which would be the only other reason. and believe me I have tried to write stories, I really wish I could. Creativity just really is a factor on that front.
Living_Dead_Girl on September 29, 2007, 11:07:47 PM
hehe... alright. I don't RP with my chars and I haven't written a story with them yet, but I've got 10 stories with them in it that I plan to eventualy write, it will just be a while. Even if I didn't have stories, my chars would still be important. Just to draw. But seeing as how you're not trying to amke a career out of it, it wouldn't really be that important for you.
