Okay...this girl here is actually the main character of Yuu Watase's new manga----Fushigi Yuugi Genbu Kaiden (featuring the Genbu no miko---Takiko Okuda). Doesn't really look like her though...sigh.

Anyways, Happy Chinese New Year! I think many here don't celebrate this festival (the majority here are Westerners, I suppose...). The word on the pic says 'Fu', meaning 'happiness' in Chinese. During CNY (Chinese New Year), there'll be many of such red papers, with Chinese charcters depicting prosperity, happiness and all those auspicious words, written on it and then pasted on the walls.

I got this idea while my sis was writing 'these stuff' for her class to put up in the classroom as decoration. (They have this annual CNY classroom decoration contest whereby the class are forced to do something about the ugliness of the classroom...I've got the taste of it for consecutive 4 years. Glad I've retired...) As I wanted very much to draw a picture of FY Genbu Kaiden, I ended up thinking about this pic. Had quite a bad time with Chinese Calligraphy...and a big problem with the colour of Takiko's eyes....
Anyways, Happy Chinese New Year to all! Doesn't matter whether you celebrate it or not, it's a new year and a new start everybody! (According to the Lunar Calender, CNY starts 22nd of Jan this year (Monkey) and ends 15 days later.)
Done 24-01-2004, Copic, Poster Paints and Signo gold ink pen.

Wow! You are so WONDERFUL at drawing! This is absolutely wonderful! If it wouldn't be too much trouble... may I make a request, please? ^__^ If you will, I'd like a girl with brown wavy hair above the shoulders wearing a black sweater and black bellbottoms, and a red shirt and white shoes, and in the background, can I be outside? If you can do this for me, THANK YOU! Your artwork is truly amazing, once again and I hope you continue to draw lots more!
