Ryu's half brother. They have the same mother, so as such is not a part of the Guu-Hoon Clan. His father is the incarnation of Death! Unlike like Ryu he embraces all of his dark powers, but like Ryu he uses his power for good. After Dean refused to wield Xegia of Darkness( since he had his own monsterous sword), Ryu searched out his brother since he was the only other able body to wield it!
