New twist to Ryu and Chireru

I wanted to stay true to normal anime series- somehow adding Japenese culture to their series, but I also wanted to add a little American to stay true to my orgins. Ryu has underwent changes. First off: his costume. His personal martial arts uniform, used for the UWBT(Universal Warrior's Blessing Tournament), is supporting colors of the hockey team the Boston Bruins. There has been changes to his name, as well. Although his common nickname is still Ryu, I decided to give him a Japanese-style nickname to go along with his name change. His clan name is changed to Shinto( meaning new swords), while is full name is Tameshigiri( meaning the test of sword(s)) Ryu Shinto. His Japenese nickname( if anyone wants to use it instead), is Tameryushin ( meaning "Testing of the new dragon sword"). Also, Ryu's sword no longer shares the name "Xegia", as Chireru's does( this is the only exception to the Japanese culture thing besides Ryu's robes). He wields the Legendary
Italian blade Durlindana. the sword is said to contain within the hilt one tooth of Saint Peter, blood of Saint Basil, hair of Saint Denis, and a piece of the raiment of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As a result, the holiness gives the blade power over the lightning element( The part about the blades powers is made up, the real version of this blade cannot do that). Ryu's fighting style consist of Aura Fist, Strong Ox martial arts and Roaring Tiger kenjutsu. The Strond Ox style is inspired from gendai budō( modern martial arts), Daitō-ryū aiki-jūjutsu, and the Chinese Baguazhang. His Roaring Tiger style is derived from Watojutsu( inspired by Enshi from Rurouni Kenshin) and Gatotsu.

Not much has happened to Chireru, however! Like Ryu, the clan name has changed, as well as the addition to the Japanese nickname. Chireru's clan name is changed from Sabre to Amakuni (this is the name of the inventor of the katana, or japanese blade). Additionally, his nickname is Chirkuni. Chireru's costume is basically the the same, with the addition of the sword sheathe and 2 grenades on his belt. The sword is called "Xeggia-Shoto ShockWave", or simply "Xegia", as Chireru calls it. The true meaning of Shingan is "Mind's eye/Heart's eye". Also, Chireru's Dragon's Claw kenjutsu are inspired from the teachings from the Yagyū Shingan-ryū school of Japanese martial arts. Because of this, he is capable of kenjutsu, naginatajutsu, the much needed iaijutsu to summon shockwaves upon unsheathing his sword, and Battōjutsu. His Avenger martial arts style is simply based on Judo and Aikido. Like Ryu( and just about every fighter in my series), he can use Aura fist.
