This was a commission for someone on dA that I completed back in March this year. I figured I might as well post them here, since I haven't posted anything in a while.
They wanted some bat earrings. I'm happy to say that the commissioner was very pleased with the earrings, and even came back later to commission me for two more sets! :)

Yeah... like snakes and tarantulas and rats... Did you know a tarantula can live 15-20 years? They're also extremely delicate and if you drop one on the floor it can bleed to death without you knowing cuz their blood isn't red like ours. And rats are among the most intelligent animals in the world, not to mention their bodies and organs are VERY similar to ours, which is why they're used a lot to test stuff in science labsMataime on August 25, 2010, 3:44:54 AM

Yup. :)I used to own rats as pets. They make some of the best companions, but their life spans are so short. It's too hard on my heart, and my dorm doesn't allow them anyway, so I haven't had any for a while. :(
There are always going to be stereotypes, though, and sadly a good number of people are always going to believe them.
