Duo Belongs With Me

Before you consider deleting this, Please think it through. I want to help you out a little to avoid future accusations,

First of all, I have to say, it may be my computer but I can't view the image in a very good quality.

Btw, do you know what the mass majority of the community here refers to as a Mary Sue?

Basically any character that wins over villians or main characters over battle or romance or other issues, domestic or other wise with very little effort. IE, being a signifigant other with no explaination.

Visually, a mary sue constitutes as, well.. gender bender carbon copies.. Etc.

I respect you for a good effort, however(magic gundam wing word) this isn't very original as far as conventional or practical standards go. I've been on the internet for along time.. And I'm going on my 8th year as a gundam fan. I Have seen Just about everything the fandom has to offer.

Most Every fan character I've ever seen Follows this formula.
a. Is a girl (because all the women besides Sally, Dorothy and Relena were portrayed very poorly, Even relena had issues but she was still portrayed better then Noin!)
a-2. Is a boy, but the sibling of one of the main characters, or a-1
b. Is a long lost sibling of a main character
c. All the main characters Like or love the character immedietly.
d. they Pilot a gundam
e they pilot a gundam better then the gundam pilots


that's pretty much the formula.. I know this because, as a Duo roleplayer, I've seen the best and the worst that this fandom has to offer. (Been molested a few times.)

Anyway, I suggest to you a few things that may improve your character development, so that you won't have to deal with deleting your comments.

First of all, start reading fiction, I'm a hypocrit for saying that considering I have issues with reading.. (I don't do it.) But DON'T read fanfiction.

I also suggest going out and picking up a few american comics. I don't mean Superman, or Spidey. See if your Local comic shop has any Indy comics that american writers have made. Observing character development in Independant comic books is a good way to see the a broad range of characters that you'd probably never have thought of before.

Now, my next suggestion, as far as Gundam Wing goes..
Rent, or Purchase, the TV series, Firefly. you can get it for about 26 at Target right now. It's worth every penny.
Why? The characters, the environment, and the little vague elements that remind you Oh so much of Gundam Wing. It's amazing. My gundam Wing Fan Characters have improved 10 fold since watching that.

Now and Example of one of my Gundam wing fan characters.

Dacia "Remmy" Rembrante

Age: 21
Race: African/African/Dutch (great grand father)
Occupation: Once served in OZ as a communications engineer before transfering to Seattle Training facility in Summer of AC 195. As a level two ranked training captain, she serves to strengthen both the body and the mind of the many new army brats under her wing.
Personality: Witty, and snarky, she enjoys ribbing her cadets any time she can, if she isn't yelling at them. She's somewhat introverted but can enjoy her self in company of close friends. Her main hobbies are watching movies collecting Music Cards.

She's a solid character, but not only that but she's different. Infact, I don't think I've ever seen a BLACK fan character for gundam Wing. Ever.

Racial Balance? Here we come!

But beyond that, you need to think outside the regular conventions, and to make a good character, you should follow the rules of the universe.
Then, look at other people.. What are they doing.
Look at your intrests, and look at What you can let her have as her bias that you share. What do you have to let go of yourself to let her/him be a good character?

What can you do to this character to let it have a life of it's own?

There have been good 'mary sue' style characters in the past.

I challenge you to redesign this character, rework her history, Maybe give her a new focus, a different outlook on life.

Ok first off, I don't even MAKE OC,s that's Lady Naru's department, and if you even DARE call her characters Mary Sue's I'll hurt you! second, your art is not beautiful, Lady Naru's are is beautiful...your's is...well, ugly, and third I noticed you deleted that pic that was not yours , you know the one you edited...nice, you loser...you didn't want to get banned....

I think Lady Naru was too nice. This is down right Mary Sue crap! You know what that is. I'm sure. And like she said it's disrespectful! The fact that you put up something like that, CLAIMING Duo is crap! Really it is! And she is a complete copy of Duo, she looks like his sister! You should take this down...You know it's this 'selfishness' that is the reason no one wants to comment on it...

This is not a Mary Sue! STOP CALLING ALL MY FANART MARY SUES! If you don't have anything nice to say about my very beautiful, very ORIGINAL fanart, don't say anything at all, got it? I didn't want to be mean, but I got sick & tired of you calling my fanart "Mary Sues". If you have any fanart on here & I see them, I will start calling them "Mary Sues". So, STOP CALLING MY ART "MARY SUES", FOR CRYING OUT LOUD!!!!

I am not taking this picture down. It is a beautiful piece of art. I am not accepting flames. I will delete them if I see them. I am not trying to claim Duo. I just have a great obsession over him, that's all. Alana is just a character of mine that looks like Duo.

Ok, I really wanna be nice and all, but this is really disrespectful towards other Duo fans. I mean really, it's rude. I'm not saying your art is bad, but to say these type of things really irritates people you know. And the fact that she’s his 'girlfriend' but she looks like a blond version of him isn't very good character development...sorry, I really don't mean disrespect but I think someone finally had to say something...
