Um, yeah - well, what can I say? This pic had absolutely NO business being as hard as it was to put together! On a whole, Mrs. Tonitini is a straightforward, rather elementary design. Unfortunately, I was at the grave disadvantage of dealing with an aging VCR, (which refused to give me a clean pause screen), and a meager 13 inch television monitor - even the episode from which the pic was inspired ("Dixon") was against me! You see, in this particular shot, Tonitini is introduced via a tight pan, starting at her feet, and ultimately ending with a visual of her face. This resulted in multiple pauses of the tape to insure I got each section of her anatomy correct. However, with the aforementioned problems, this seemingly minor task easily escalated into pure frustration! It took like, forever, but somehow, I managed to complete this madness - albeit with some definite flaws here and there.

But enough about my headache

Armed to the teeth with motherly advice and witty one-liners, Mrs. Tonitini takes the crown as one of the most entertaining, (if overlooked), characters in the Weekenders universe. Regrettably, she's underwritten - which is probably deliberate. However, what she does manage to bring to the table in the little time she's given, is surprisingly effective - not to mention, a much welcome break from the main characters of the show. Add the occasional on-air moments with her boy friend, Dixon, along with her notorious penchant for healthy cuisine (Fish eyes anyone?), and she can produce some downright laughable moments. It's something that fans of the show may not realize right off the bat, but Tonitini is no doubt the dark horse of The Weekenders - and a welcome one at that.
